Title Patient Account Representative- Support Services Building Description Job Description and Essential Functions Job Title/Position: Patient Account Representative Job Classification: Administrative/Professional Support Date of Analysis: Date of Revision/Review: 5/3/2018, 08/2018 __________________________________________________________________________________________ Brief Description of Job Responsibilities: To work directly with patients who have outstanding balances with the Clinic and are unable to make payment in full on services not covered by their insurance company. To make arrangements with patients on payment schedules within the guidelines of the Clinic`s credit policy. Counsel patients on financial arrangements to the best of the abilities of the Clinic, as well as maintain satisfying personal relations with our patients. Specialized Responsibilities: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned) - Counsel patients on financial arrangements according to clinic collection policy.
- Set up payment arrangement plans by making patient phone calls.
- Work with patients with outstanding self-pay balances.
- Communicate with other departments of the Business Office regarding patient accounts.
- Able to work flexible working schedule.
- Other miscellaneous dutiesPerformance Requirements:

- The ability to work with patients in a courteous and professional manner and always upholding our professional image in very difficult situations
- Positive attitude in dealing with people in adverse situations
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work tactfully with patients, physicians, insurance companies, and co-workers.
- Excellent communication skills with the patients and fellow employees to maintain the quality of work needed for the department.Education/Experience/Certifications:

- Collection experience preferred.
- Knowledge of credit policy and billing procedures.
- Computer knowledge preferred.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish preferred
- Prior medical experience helpful.Non-Essential Duties: Work is performed in an office environment. Involves frequent contact with staff and the public. Work may be stressful at times.Typical Physical Demands:
