Job Description and Essential Functions

Job Title/Position: Radiology Aide

Brief Description of Job Responsibilities:

1. Answer the telephone, taking accurate messages in prompt and helpful manner
2. Maintain patient confidentiality- HIPPA
3. Maintain Mammo schedule, looking up prior exams in various data bases, and requesting outside studies when necessary
4. Pull and file x-ray jackets, using a terminal digit filing system (Central File)
5. Generate out-guides
6. Burn CD`s for patient`s continuing care and enter Release Of Information
7. Import outside images into PACS and make appropriate changes/merges
8. Prepare x-rays/CD`s to be sent to other Prevea sites and outside facilities using proper consent forms
9. Digitize films.(Central File)
10. Enter x-ray orders into Radiant (RIS)
11. Purge x-ray films according to protocol
12. Have knowledge of reading rooms, including hanging films when necessary, and assist radiologist as needed (Allouez Site)
13. Maintain reading work lists that are filtered according to stage of reading.
14. Physical ability to Assist technologists with patients as necessary (bending, squatting and lifting)
15. Greet patients in courteous and helpful manner
16. Check in patients and verify necessary information
17. Dependable as well as flexible with your work schedule
18. Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Certifications:

1. High school graduate
2. Medical terminology related to radiology is desired.
3. Good computer and keyboard skills are necessary.
4. Good customer service skills.
5. Medical office experience helpful.

• Radiology experience desired.

Non-Essential Duties:

• Other duties as assigned within scope of practice
• Typical Physical Demands:

Work may require hand dexterity for office machine operation, stooping and bending to files and supplies or sitting for extended periods of time. Manual dexterity for using computer keyboard. Vision must be correctable to 20/30 and hearing must be in the normal range.

• Needs the ability to help boost patients out of wheelchair or on exam table up to 40 lbs of force

• Required to push / pull a wheelchair with a patient on it 30lb -- 75 lbs of force needed
