Title Drug Screen Collector- Ashwaubenon- Part Time Description This position will work 20 hrs per week Job Description and Essential Functions Job Title/Position: Drug Screen Collector Job Classification: Indirect Patient Care / Clinical Support Date of Analysis: 5/2013 Date of Revision/Review: 5/2015, 6/2018, 7/2019, 06/2021 __________________________________________________________________________________________ Brief Description of Job Responsibilities: This position is responsible for the collection and processing of urine drug screens as well as breath alcohol testing. Coordinates and reports all laboratory-based test results to clients. Specialized Responsibilities: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned) - Greet patients in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.
- Check-in patients and verify that all necessary information is accurate and completed.
- Assist coordinator in the set up of new service profiles.
- Obtain urine specimen for drug screening as a Certified Professional Collector (CPC) according to DATIA and D.O.T. standards and protocols.
- Process the specimen and related paperwork according to D.O.T. guidelines.
- Log the patient visit and the services provided.
- Follow chain of custody requirements and maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
- Provide breath alcohol testing services as a certified Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) according to D.O.T. guidelines and protocols.
- Assist with locating and setting up collection sites across the U.S.
- Occasionally assist with DOT audits.
- Answer telephones, maintain logs, create files, file, maintain inventories of supplies, assist in random pool management
- Assist Coordinator as needed.
- MRO Service
- Call all negative test results to client
- Provide written disposition of test results
- Assist the MRO with the positive result disposition
- Set up forms
- Provide lab reports
- Assist with location of medical records for verified results
- Stay updated with federal regulatory changes
- Participate in on-call rotation.
- Provide support to all personnel collecting for WorkMed.
Performance Requirements: - Participate in On-Call rotation and must be able to respond to call within 40 minutes.
- Ability to learn and interpret state and federal laws and regulations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and spreadsheet software.
- Ability to self motivate and be self-directed.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster a team approach to problem solving.
Education/Experience/Certifications: - High school graduate
- Previous exposure to Occupational Medicine preferred.
Non-Essential Duties: Other duties as assigned Typical Working Conditions: Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment. Required to work quickly and accurately. Typical Physical Demands: Requires activities including standing, sitting, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, driving, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 35 pounds. Requires vision correctable to 20/30 including the ability to differentiate between colors and hearing to normal range. Requires exposure to bodily fluids. Required to work under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
