Washington Regional Cardiovascular Clinic is seeking an MA to support an interventional cardiologist and nurse practitioner in the ambulatory clinic setting. As part of the care team, duties encompass all aspects of patient care including: Clinic intake EKGs Device checks Chart prep Patient communication Medical Assistants work cooperatively in a fast-paced, highly rewarding environment. Duties are performed under the supervision of an MD/DO, physician assistant, advanced practice nurse, registered nurse and/or a licensed practical nurse. Hours are 8a-5p. Teams travel to satellite clinic locations at least once a week. This position spends the majority of time standing (up to 60% of work time) with frequent walking of short distances (up to 20% of work time). The clinic has 10 board-certified cardiologists and 16 advanced practice providers who see patients at six locations throughout Northwest Arkansas. Washington Regional Cardiovascular Clinic also offers specialized valve, vein, lipid and heart failure clinics. Licensure/Certification Medical Assistant Certification preferred. Educational Requirements High school diploma or GED required Skills and Competencies Minimum of 2 years previous medical training as a medical assistant on an interdisciplinary team and is preferred Firm understanding of medical terminology Strict adherence to the guidelines set forth in the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act and/or the Arkansas Medical Act Ability to operate standard office and medical equipment Familiarity with MS Office and general computer skills Firm understanding of medical terminology Ability to effectively communicate with patients, coworkers, supervisors, managers and all types of providers Ability to work well with others About Washington Regional Our mission is to improve the health of people in the communities we serve through compassionate, high-quality care, prevention, and wellness education.
