Position Summary The Patient Services Manager is expected to supervise the diet office personnel preparing menus for hospitalized patients. This position assures individual meals are adequately planned and modified for specific diets. This position will be responsible for recipe development for the patient food as well as improving patient satisfaction scores in the "Meals" category of our survey tool. The incumbent is responsible for two supervisors as well as morning and event shift management. The incumbent is expected to maintain budgeted worked hours per stat and take appropriate action when variances are identified. The incumbent enhances coordination of patient services and works interactively with the Production Manager in the FOM system in overall production. This position evaluates and disciplines employees and plans work schedules. This position ensures that patients are contacted concerning specific nutrition needs while hospitalized. This position has exposure to extremes in noise and temperature, cleaning chemicals and equipment as normally related to food service areas. Majority of time is spent standing or walking (up to 60% of worked time.) Licenses/Certifications Required Registered Diet Technician or CDM, CFPP Specific Educational and Skill Competencies Required Knowledge of dietary practices and techniques at a level normally acquired through either completion of college level classes or successful application for registration as a diet technician. Must have a Bachelor`s degree in a related field such as management or dietetics.
