POSITION SUMMARY
The CT Technologist is to provide quality patient care in the CT department. This employee will evaluate the patient, gather accurate patient history, review necessary labs, start and maintain IV access for contrast injections, scan patients according to the correct diagnostic protocol established by the Radiologists. This position is responsible for the performance of diagnostic testing utilizing CT modalities. This position has exposure to communicable disease, body fluids, magnetic fields and radiation. This position spends the majority of time standing and walking (up to 60% of work time.) Frequent lifting, pushing/pulling and carrying of up to 35 lb. are required when positioning patients and equipment (up to 30% of work time.) This position serves a variety of age groups: Neonates (up to 5% of work time), pediatrics (5%), adolescents (15%), adults (50%) and geriatrics (30%).Other duties may be assigned as needed for the workflow of the Imaging Department.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
ARRT registered with CT advanced registry preferred but not required; CT advanced registry must be obtained within one year of the date of hire. AR State Licensure and BCLS required.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL AND SKILL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION
Maintain licensure for BCLS, Arkansas state licensure and ARRT. It is also the responsibility of the technologists to maintain all necessary education set by the state and ARRT and our facility.
