Position Summary The role of the Infection Prevention Coordinator reports to the Vice President/ACNO. This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Infection Prevention and Control Department, including staff scheduling, compliance with regulatory requirements, and adherence to reporting standards. This position will collaborate with nursing and hospital leadership to develop infection prevention strategies. Essential Position Responsibilities Ensure adequate coverage during business hours through effective staff scheduling Develop and communicate department strategies and performance expectations for infection prevention for immediate team and system staff Ensure adherence to best practices through the review of resources from professional organizations and regulatory agencies Lead and mentor department in high quality performance to support WRMCs Mission, Vision, and Values Collaborate with leadership to create and implement quality and performance improvement initiatives Partner directly with the CNO, ACNO, Director of Quality, and other key stakeholders on initiatives that promote patient safety and quality care Maintain expert knowledge of IPC standards, reporting requirements, and impact to hospital reimbursement and publicly reported outcome data Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. MSN, preferred. Licensure and Certifications: Arkansas RN license and BLS, required. CIC certification required within 2 years of date of hire. Experience: Minimum 3 years experience in acute nursing care, required.
