Washington Regionals laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), the worlds leading provider of laboratory accreditation and proficiency testing programs. Responsibilities Performs specimen processing functions in lab departments which may include centrifugation and aliquoting of specimens, gram staining and culture set-ups. Performs CLIA waived and non-waived testing according to approved procedures and processes Identify and document problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and immediately correct the problem or notify supervisor, director, or medical director Performs analyzer maintenance, calibration and quality control procedures Assists with send out specimen processing Performs troubleshooting and corrective action documentation and related procedures Performs proficiency testing as needed for regulatory compliance Completes and complies with competency requirements of the department Works with customers to assess needs, provide assistance, resolve problems and satisfy expectations to influence a positive outcome Assists with phlebotomy as needed Assists with reagent and supplies inventory management as needed This position has exposures to body fluids and communicable diseases. This position must be able to determine color variations. The majority of your shift will be spent standing and/or walking short distances, with occasional pushing, pulling, and lifting of up to 40lbs.
