Position Summary The collector is responsible for performing receptionist and cashier duties for the department or preparing documents necessary for dissemination of liens, bankruptcies, probates, lawsuits and garnishments to the proper authorities. This position is moderately supervised and spends the majority of the time sitting (up to 60% of work time) while performing repetitive type actions (using a PC, Microsoft Office, 10-key calculator and phone.) Specific Educational and Skill Competencies Required High school diploma or GED. Good communication skills, skilled in telephone negotiations and legal collections, proficient in document preparation using Microsoft Word and Excel, 2-5 years collections and/or customer service experience, skilled in bookkeeping, 10 key calculator, typing, computer data entry and skip tracing and asset searches.
