GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Advanced Quality Data Analyst is a subject matter expert in performing quality analysis as well as data analytics. The Advanced Analyst leverages analysis competencies and advanced technical skills to support strategic objectives, operational improvements, planning efforts and other initiatives that require data analytics or analysis expertise.

The Advanced Analyst is self-reliant and may instruct, or coach other analysts and may self-initiate project assignments.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Data preparation - researching, extracting, integrating, modeling and validating. Includes analysis of this data to deliver actionable insights and user-friendly solutions to all levels of customers.
  • Define data requirements and create other documents to support, justify and track progress on work efforts; summaries of analytical findings, recommendations, visuals, reports, data models, self-service analytics tools, and other products that add value to organization and support decision making.
  • Participates and provides input/support in organizational data stewardship: Leads and acts as data steward relative to Quality.
  • Acts as lead analyst on complex projects or workgroups and is a mentor to others in data analysis roles
  • Uses a wide degree of creativity and latitude as there is different degrees of complexity and variety in requests and projects.
  • Ability to interpret complex data, identify trends and present information in a clear, concise and useful format to answer specific problems. Uses friendly visual presentations, reports or self-service tools
  • Performs data extraction, integration, modeling, and warehousing large and/or complex data sets
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a working knowledge of operations units, organizational structures, strategy, legal and market trends in order to facilitate and enhance data analytics and business analysis efforts
  • Participates in reporting and data analysis of Ambulatory Surgery Center, Accountable Care Organization and other regulatory reporting as needed.
  • Collaborates and works closely with other IT groups to promote effective working relationships and support efforts to maintain data integrity.
  • Gathering and analyzing detailed requirements from stakeholders
  • Establishing value of addressing customer needs in context of organization`s objectives and goals, business line, stakeholders, strategy, and impacts to other initiatives
  • Capability to quickly assimilate new information and adapt to continuous change in needs associated with broad range of strategic or operational reasons

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EDUCATION

  • Bachelor`s degree or equivalent experience in business or healthcare administration, finance, information technology, computer science or related discipline.
  • 5-7 years professional experience in comparable analyst role with progressively more complex assignments
  • Role enhancing certifications or coursework (e.g. Epic modules, coding languages, MS Office, IIBA)
  • Experience with:
    • Health care settings such as hospital, ambulatory clinics, etc.
    • Decisions support systems support, design, and implementation
    • Broad range of projects across diverse customer role base
    • Working in fast pace, frequently changing business environment
    • Serving as a liaison role between information systems and business operations
    • Working with system and/or operations integration
  • Familiarity with EMR such as EPIC and their data structures
  • Proficiency in Tableau, Power BI or similar visualization platform
  • Project management skills and/or familiarity with project management concepts and techniques
  • Advanced in facilitation, negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Skilled in teaching techniques
  • Self-starter and able to independently learn new skills
  • Proficient in analytical thinking and problem-solving techniques.
  • Knowledgeable in data governance, security and confidentiality concepts

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work may require sitting for long periods of time; also stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, operate a calculator, telephone, copier, and other such office equipment as necessary. Vision must be correctable to 20/30 and hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts. It is necessary to view and type on computer screens for long periods and to work in an environment which can be very stressful.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in an office/clinic environment and may require interaction with patients. Involves frequent telephone contact with employees and patients. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive. Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Flexibility needed to accommodate occasional meetings which fall outside the hours of 8-4:30.
