The Investment Accountant will manage the day-to-day operations of the investment portfolio. Key Responsibilities: Process and settle all investment transactions, monitor maturities and help manage the banks cash position Assist the Treasurer with managing the Banks interest rate, liquidity, counterparty, and foreign-exchange risk Monitor, update and optimize the Banks collateral position at various custodians to maximize the banks liquidity position Research and reconcile internal accounts with various custodians Monitor key investment portfolio metrics as well as individual trade history and performance Participate in merger-related activities impacting the investment portfolio Ensure compliance with all investment-related policies Maintain, update, or create investment-related procedures Review and update, as necessary, SOX documentation Maintain Excel files, prepare reports, and record investment-related journal entries such as principal and interest transactions Engage in job-related ongoing education for investments, accounting and financial institutions Communicate with and assist various vendors, counterparties, internal/external auditors and regulators Ensure proper business continuity and disaster recovery processes are in place related to job responsibilities Serve as backup for other Treasury employees during times of absence Assist with internal projects and restructures that enhance the investment process/portfolio Complete investment-related Board reporting Assist with ALCO document preparation, as necessary Perform any other related duties as required or assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or related field of study Two to five years of related experience at a financial institution Effective written and verbal communication skills, appropriate for communicating internally with staff level through executive level as well as externally with vendors, counterparties, auditors and regulators Ability to interpret written and verbal instructions and procedures Ability to analyze, enhance and implement process improvements Willing and able to learn Bank computer systems relative to the function Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, most importantly Excel and Word PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Advanced degree in related field of study Five to eight years of related experience at a financial institution Work experience with investments or financial instruments Working knowledge of Fiserv products, eFolio, Bloomber Education: University - Bachelor`s Degree/3-4 Year Degree
