JOB SUMMARY The Production Control Planner III is responsible for managing and regulating the movement of purchased and assembled material through the entire manufacturing cycle from requisitioning of material to the delivery of finished goods. Manages demand using MRP output to release/reschedule material supply. Analyzes MRP data to assure purchased and assembled material releases support production schedules and communicates material issues that may negatively impact production program delivery schedules. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - Under general supervision responsible for own or group`s performance on defined tasks. Unusual circumstances referred to supervisor.
- Planning/Scheduling:
- Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple products
- Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay
- Assist the manufacturing department to actively manage the production schedule
- Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget
- Monitor, analyze, and report performance to schedule of production activities utilizing information derived from material and production control systems
- Research demand, customer requirements and delivery constraints and resolve MRP discrepancies
- Prepare and submit status and performance reports
- Collaborate with quality control, warehouse and other functions
- Systems:
- Coordinate, load and maintain MRP data in ERP system
- Proactively collaborate with all Supply Chain areas and Finance to update and maintain data quality and integrity
- Coordinate multi-tiered bill-of-material and work orders BOMs and Routers
- Coordinate and load requirements as needed to align with customer and production output
- Coordinate analysis of changes to product design to potential impact of current or new work orders
- Actively collaborate on modification records for management control
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS - Comply with government and corporate laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Special projects and other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY N/A QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION - BA degree Business Administration, Operations Management, or a technical field
- In lieu of degree, 5 years direct manufacturing planning experience required
EXPERIENCE - 10 or more years of experience utilizing MRP systems in master scheduling, planning or production control
- Prefer experience with ERP systems in the following disciplines:
- Materials and Planning
- Supply Management
- Production planning and quality control principles
- KANBANs
- MRP II (Manufacturing resource planning)
- Prefer experience working in a D/FAR environment
SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS - Must be eligible to obtain and/or maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance commensurate with the level of facility clearance.
- Demonstrated knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Excellent problem solving skills, sound judgment, initiative and creativity
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing, and organizational skills
- High energy and a sense of urgency approach to issues
- Experience in discreet and project management a plus
- Work ethics of high integrity throughout all areas of internal and external business activity
- Competency with the various MS Office tools and ERP systems
- Able to perform basic math and analyze statistics
Education: University - Bachelor`s Degree/3-4 Year Degree
