Position can be worked 100% remote in the U.S.

The Senior Manager of SMB Risk will develop and own the strategies to evaluate the credit worthiness of businesses with which we do business. This role is a critical function to enable the next wave of growth. In this role, you will be tasked with enabling our growth while mitigating business-based losses. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and can be located anywhere in the US.

Here is what you are responsible for:

  • Own all aspects of business credit risk including developing loss targets to balance growth and profitability, executing plans to ensure that losses come in under plan while growth targets are met and ensuring alignment with strategy across the organization
  • Build out business underwriting strategy and processes for existing products and services in conjunction with Sales and Customer Success teams
  • Play critical part of new product development process, alongside Product and Operations, to drive growth as a subject matter expert
  • Evaluating different credit policies, lending and exposure limits, underwriting methodologies for our services and products
  • Work with Product team to plan and develop risk and underwriting infrastructure to enable implementation of strategies at scale
  • Develop and manage ongoing forecast of delinquency and losses associated with business products
  • Develop and ensure compliance with AML policies and procedures, including Know Your Business ("KYB") and OFAC.
  • Work with the Risk team to review underwriting trends, variations, and patterns to assist with identifying fraudulent and/or suspicious activity.

  • 5-8 years of experience within credit risk, specializing in small business risk and underwriting
  • Knowledge of AML regulations and compliance requirements for SMBs
  • Experience building and managing SMB credit products within a card issuer, bank or fintech company
  • Experience with data be that credit, fraud or alternative data like banking data, Accounting data (Quickbooks etc)
  • Hands on and excellent at manipulating data and building models
  • Experience with model development and analytics tools, SQL, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Ability to understand the analyze the profitability trade-offs of risk decisions
  • Strong communication skills that enable you to present complex results to senior management in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to work cooperatively across the company is critical

University - Bachelor`s Degree/3-4 Year Degree
