Great opportunity to work at a start-up facility for a high growth alcohol beverage company. Lead a team of 5 and reporting directly to the General Manager/Plant Manager. State of the Art facility.



As an actively engaged member of plant leadership team, be responsible for oversight of all plant engineering and maintenance projects. The Sr. Manager will lead a diverse team of maintenance, engineering, environmental, central plant/utilities operation, including wastewater treatment, in a 24/7, innovative, world class brewery. Provide leadership and build a cross functional team to support daily requirements of the operation and leading and maintaining the utmost safety standards while providing training & oversight for team-based problem solving.


Strategic Planning (30%)

  • Establish maintenance management systems that support PM, PdM, and RCM
  • Establish maintenance and reliability function, program and team
  • Ensure repair consistency by leading the SOP creation effort for the department
  • Ensure compliance of all safety standards by the maintenance organization
  • Perform internal and external benchmarking, analysis, target setting, and publishing of key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Identify & contribute to the building of the capital plan for the site. Measure performance against capital expenditure strategy and process manufacturing strategy.

Technical Functions (25%)

  • Set and maintain individual KPI metrics for team members
  • Interpret drawings and engineering documents
  • Analyze machine performance data to optimize maintenance activity effectiveness and maximize equipment uptime
  • Implement root cause analysis processes of equipment failures to increase equipment reliability and availability
  • Support engineering changes and equipment installation and coordinate instrumentation calibration
  • Develop advanced PdM and RCM processes, such as, vibration analysis, oil analysis, machine conditional monitoring, acoustic testing
  • Review machine materials and condition to tailor PMs to actual operation conditions
  • Provide process engineering support for manufacturing operations and lead Engineering and Maintenance of Central Plant/Utilities, including wastewater treatment, facilities, and grounds.
  • Analyze process workflow, employee and space requirements and equipment layout; implementing changes where needed. Understands makes necessary changes for present and future products. Lead process improvements projects and design, including process evaluations and engineering recommendations for safety, quality, and cost saving enhancements
  • Understand and utilize the most effective technology and processes to drive change.

Logistical Functions (25%)

  • Participate in the operation of the plant
  • Lead process improvement projects and design
  • Coordinate with production planning to ensure all PMs are accomplished on time
  • Guide the EHS manager to improve safety programs and instill a culture of safety amongst the maintenance team
  • Collaborate with operation partners to ensure effective technical transfer from improvement plan to production environments, including documentation of new/updated key process indicators (KPIs)

Team & Leadership Functions (20%)

  • Direct Reports: Maintenance Manager, Environmental Engineer, Plant Project Engineer, and Utilities Supervisor. Builds cross functional team to support daily requirements of the of a Greenfield state-of the Art brewery and packaging facility with capacity of over 85M cases of annual production
  • Provides training/oversight for team-based problem solving. Mentors plant personnel while also providing direct and indirect reports with performance feedback and career coaching.
  • Establishes support team to execute against facility engineering demands including CAPEX Planning, Design work, Asset Care, Maintenance Planning Systems running on a 24/7 schedule.
  • Oversee and support the professional development of the maintenance & engineering team members including techs; Provide for developmental training through OJT and formal training; motivate, coach and develop a diverse, high performing and engaged team to meet established goals and build organizational capability. Encourage performance through formal and informal performance reviews.
  • Manage all required training programs for team to ensure 100% required training completion

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field of study
  • 5-10 yrs progressive experience in industrial process engineering, including at least 5 years of experience in high-speed manufacturing facility.
  • Understanding of financial systems and controls - including ability to analyze budget and cost data, determine trends and apply corrective actions to achieve desired financial goals.
  • Solid project planning and management skills using standard project management tools
  • Working knowledge of various manufacturing processes and unit operations including TPM / Maintenance Excellence programs including Asset Management, Breakdown Analysis, FMEA, and Reliability Centered Maintenance required. Working knowledge of fermentation process, filtration, ammonia refrigeration systems, pasteurization process and high-speed glass bottle and aluminum can packaging systems highly preferred.
  • Experience with greenfield & start-up highly preferred. Food and Beverage plant engineering, brewing experience and experience with high-speed packaging equipment highly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel <10%, primarily supporting our North America based operations
  • Skills & Abilities
  • Working knowledge of ISO, GMP, JSA, and HACCP food safety as it relates to the manufacturing process.
  • Proven ability to develop, motivate, and empower employees while fostering an environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration. Actively builds teams to collaborate on complicated tasks.
  • Demonstrated success in management of direct reports across all shifts in 24/7 operation.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take on any task.
  • Proven ability to lead change through an organization
  • Proficient with personal computers and business applications.
  • Effective business systems thinker and a good understanding of business process knowledge.
  • Must be able to handle sensitive related and proprietary information in a confidential manner

University - Bachelor`s Degree/3-4 Year Degree
