JOB SUMMARY The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for planning, scheduling, directing, and leading manufacturing activities for production. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS ? Provides direct supervision to employees, along with time approvals, objective setting, performance management, conflict resolution, motivating, training and coaching. ? Develops and implements manufacturing plans and standards, which includes managing materials, equipment and labor to meet business needs. ? Implements and manages continuous improvement initiatives. Recommends changes in training, working practices and processes. ? Coordinates operating activities so that approved products are completed on schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives. ? Assures compliance with corporate and local government safety, health and environmental rules, policies and procedures. ? Shares the company vision and demonstrates company values. ? Works very closely and effectively with functional teams to ensure we meet the customers expectations. ? Reviews production reports and resolves problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. ? Develops or revises standard operational procedures and working practices ? Contributes to the creation and implementation of best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance ? Collaborates with senior leaders on continuous improvement KPIs, assisting with development action plans where needed. ? Assists and coaches teams in continuous improvement tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, daily management, Gemba walks, Kaizen events, cell/line creation, TPM etc. ? Special projects and other duties as assigned ? All employees are expected to be in compliance with government and corporate laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS ? Maintain the highest standards for Safety, Quality and Housekeeping SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY ? Supports and develops a culture by instilling the values in all activities in the facility ? Responsible for the training and development program for the team members ? Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. ? Lead the team, ensuring adequate staffing levels, recruitment, training, development, feedback, attendance, disciplinary issues and daily supervision ? Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION ? Bachelors degree preferred. May consider years of experience in lieu of degree. EXPERIENCE ? Minimum ten (10) years experience in manufacturing operations ? Minimum five (5) years experience implementing and supporting Lean initiatives ? Minimum seven (7) years experience leading 20+ direct reports/contractors SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS ? Must be eligible to obtain and/or maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance commensurate with the level of facility clearance. ? Has the ability to function under stress and interact cordially with co-workers to accomplish common tasks. ? Excellent communication skills, high business acumen with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. ? Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. ? Proven ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from audience. ? Proven ability to develop and grow top talent. ? Proven ability to scale operations and/or manage the manufacturing of new products from prototype to full rate production. ? Proven ability to achieve results by collaborating with others such as supervisors, leads, peers and support groups. ? Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP Software; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook. ? Inventory systems knowledge, a plus. ? Time & Attendance experience ? Experience in reporting on key production metrics ? Excellent organizational and leaderships skills ? Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach Education: University - Bachelor`s Degree/3-4 Year Degree
