Update: Two open reqs at this level. The most critical need is for a highly professional sales executive who understands and has successfully sold within the travel sector. Current relationships with airlines, hotels, and booking platforms are ideal. The abiliity to sell a complex product that requires the support from multiple executives and the involvement of multiple functional areas to successfully onboard the product. Does not need to be financial services, could come from platforms such as SalesForce, Adobe, Marqeta, Magento...

Expertise and up to date networks in other verticals such as electronics, home goods and home improvement, or retail also highly desired.

Description:

We are currently recruiting salespeople (new business hunters) for a bank with a successful fintech subsidiary in POS lending. They have several successful point-of-sale lending partners including Apple and Microsoft. We are looking for people with ENTERPRISE-level experience selling to retailers, eCommerce platforms, and SaaS providers of all stripes (Travel, Big Box, Home Goods, Electronics, Fashion, after school tutoring, fitness facilities). The ideal experience is in BNPL (Buy now, pay later) sales within the travel sector, but well also look at other complex sales to other verticals.

Our client is a fintech business powered by a national bank. Recognized as a leader in product innovation, they have created transformational point of sale financing programs for some or the largest retailers in the country. The team is rapidly expanding its merchant relationships across industry verticals and is looking for a seasoned developer of new business to play a key role in its growth. The Sr. Account Executive will be responsible for developing new merchant relationships and establishing strategic partnerships to drive top line revenue and loan volume on an annual basis. Success in the role will require building and managing a pipeline of prospects, aligning product solutions with the needs of merchants, and ultimately closing new business. This role offers an exciting opportunity for seasoned hunters who can think strategically and drive execution by showing grit, creativity, and determination. We are looking for a candidate with a maniacal focus on the customer that can expertly show merchants how point of sale solutions can be a game-changer for their business.

As a Sr. Account Executive you will:

  • Develop and execute a sales strategy within assigned verticals to meet team and business line goals for loan volume and revenue
  • Leverage your network of contacts and relationships, as well as your knowledge of the competitive landscape in point of sale / buy-now-pay-later financing, to inform pipeline development activities and help open doors for new business
  • Vet and qualify opportunities with internal stakeholders and team leadership, demonstrating strategic thinking capabilities to ensure the optimal merchant solution is presented
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to build proposals and product solutions that deliver the greatest value to our and our merchant partners
  • Lead in-person pitches and negotiation of terms with merchants
QUALIFICATIONS

The capabilities and career experience that we are looking for include:

  • Highly successful developer of new business with a keen understanding of how to build, qualify, and close a pipeline of partnership opportunities
  • Creative thinker who can imagine the art-of-the-possible and bring it to life with a passion for solving new challenges
  • 10+ years of Business Development experience in merchant financing, SaaS, or payments technology. Prior experience in merchant financing solutions (BNPL, PLCC) is preferred
  • A robust network of merchant relationships within key industry verticals (consumer electronics, home goods, specialty retail/big-box, home improvement, travel & entertainment)
  • Strong knowledge of the merchant financing ecosystem and emerging consumer payment products
  • Bachelor`s Degree Required, MBA preferred

Education:
University - Bachelor`s Degree/3-4 Year Degree
