JOB DESCRIPTION

Analytical Scientist

Greater Philadelphia, PA (Horsham)

Global, 50+ year old, specialized contract laboratory testing and research services business has an immediate need for a full-time, direct hire Analytical Scientist in the greater Philadelphia, PA area for a leading pharmaceutical company.

  • High level analytical work with assays (optimize & troubleshoot existing assays, develop new assays, and support analytical method transfer & validation)

  • Desired biologics experience; high level analytical work (HPLC, capillary electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, Western Blots; potency/concentrations)

Select Responsibilities:

  • Design & execute product characterization studies, independently or in collaboration with internal or external labs

  • Evaluate, troubleshoot/improve existing analytical methods

  • Test samples using multiple bioanalytical methods, summarize analytical data

  • Partner with Quality Control to improve and/or troubleshoot validated analytical methods and critical reagents

  • Support production and qualification of reference standards and critical reagents

  • Participate in studies supporting fermentation or purification

  • Work with & support late stage clinical and commercial products

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

  • MS and/or Bachelors in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Cell Biology

  • 2-10 years of hands-on experience in electrophoresis, chromatography, enzymatic assays, spectroscopy assays preferred experience

  • Extensive knowledge of FDA, ICH and USP guidance and regulations

  • Experience with Unicorn software for chromatography (Cytiva/GE Software product)

  • Knowledge of the biologic process and analytical development life cycle, cGMP, cGLP, and FDA/ICH guidelines

  • Extensive knowledge of analytical chemistry and concepts in developing and validating methods to meet correct pharmaceutical standards

  • Ability to work independently, without a lot of supervision

Education:
University - Bachelor`s Degree/3-4 Year Degree
