Journeyman Electrician & Electronic Industrial Controls Technician
Install, maintain and repair multiple electrical systems, subcomponents, digital controls, & motors
Install, modify, repair, maintain, troubleshoot, test & determine load on new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems & all associated fixtures, controls and equipment
Inspect, maintain, test & repair all types of fixtures, motors, switches, fire alarms, circuits, rheostats, & thermostats
Responsible for installation and repair of SCADA components and transmitters
May also be responsible for installation & maintenance of Industrial Multiphase Systems thermocouple sensors, fire detection/suppression systems, current cathodic protection systems to reduce system corrosion on underground equipment and pipes
Determine material and equipment requirements for assigned jobs
Perform technical inspections of work performed by contractors and other in-house personnel
Troubleshoot electrical circuits containing electronic components in order to isolate the systems, computer interface devices, analog/digital controls & solid state motor control circuits
E&I Technician are represented by the IBEW
Work indoors & outdoors (extreme heat & cold) on voltages up to 12.47 KV QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Maintain a Journeyman Electrician Certificate of Fitness issued by the State of Alaska.
Maintain a level of physical fitness to perform the duties of Electrician/Instrument Technician
Pass all pre-hire and random drug testing in accordance with the employer`s policy
Be eligible to work on a military installation in Alaska.
Be willing to report for duty during emergencies or to cover shifts under short notice to ensure adequate staffing to operate the various utilities.
Have a valid Alaska Drivers License; Medical Card issued by the State of Alaska is preferred.
Be willing to complete an approved confined space entry class.
