Our Client is a reinsurer established to acquire and manage insurance and reinsurance companies in run-off and to provide management, consulting and other services to the insurance industry.

The Position: Assistant Vice President, Investments

Job Summary:

The AVP Investments will assist the Regional Chief Investment Officer with:

  • monitoring the existing US investment portfolios to ensure the portfolio allocation is in line with strategic and tactical allocation preferences while operating within the constraints of a regulated insurance company
  • constructing optimal investment portfolios and return streams as an input to the Mergers and Acquisition pricing process
  • generating new strategic and tactical ideas for implementation in the portfolio
  • working with the head of alternatives and non-core specialty mandates to ensure top tier managers are being utilized.

Experience:

  • 6-10 years minimum experience in insurance company asset management
  • Thorough understanding of investment management, strategic asset allocation, tactical asset allocation and capital markets.
  • Must have an understanding of the portfolio construction process and information required in order to make asset allocation decisions.
  • Experience working with external asset managers (or internal portfolio managers) in development of benchmarks, portfolios and efficient frontiers.
  • Bachelors or higher (Masters is preferred)
  • CFA preferre

Education:
University - Bachelor`s Degree/3-4 Year Degree
