The MHX Transportation Manager is responsible for creating a "Culture" of Executing Safe, Timely, Accurate, and Reliable Processes, while encompassing the MHX Values in everything he/she does: The Well Being of People, Integrity, Accuracy, Customer Focus, Constant Improvement. The MHX Transportation Manager is responsible for creating a culture where all employees in the transportation department execute processes in accordance with the company values. Concurrently responsible for the positioning of transportation equipment within their region, while ensuring all personnel are in compliance with all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations, DOT Regulations, OSHA Regulations, Company, and Customer Rules and Regulations. The transportation manager must create and maintain a culture of compliance and retention within the assigned fleet. This individual must constantly work to enhance the culture and grow the fleet in accordance with company directives. They must be intimately knowledgeable of customer requirements and expectations and strive to meet or exceed our customer's expectations. The Transportation Manager is responsible for the accurate and efficient movement of equipment within their region. Our expectation is consistency and performance excellence in the areas of Safety, Shipment handling, Accuracy and On-time delivery. These measurable, customer affecting areas of expectation will be evaluated on a regular basis. The Transportation Manager is responsible for creating process improvement initiatives that strive to meet and/or exceed 100% of the goals listed across these areas. In addition, the transportation manager must exhibit strong management skills in leading the assigned team of supervisors and Class A Drivers which includes but is not limited to conducting safety tailgates, driver contact, and providing feedback regarding driver performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain safe operations; comply and adhere with all federal, state, OSHA, and company safety regulations and rules at all times for self, personnel, equipment, and facility.

Create a culture of quality employees with high Retention

Collaborate with Asset manager to ensure fleet is in working order, compliant and that all needed tools and supplies are available to the fleet as required.

Monitor and Improve Performance to match Company KPI's while working collaboratively with Planning Manager to ensure increase in company value and progress towards goal driven metrics.

Perform driver reviews and coach drivers to complete performance to plan.

Ensure adequate and ongoing training for all personnel.

Ensure compliance with all wage and hour, workplace, and personnel regulations and policies.

Unload or load, record and document all product movement with complete accuracy.

Learn and adhere to all customer processes for the accurate handling of product.

Manage, complete and ensure submission of paperwork in an organized and timely manner.

Understand and have competent working knowledge of all processes and systems including but not limited to planning tools, IPad applications, computer systems, securement and proper operation of all transportation equipment and all other activities performed during the handling of product on equipment.

Provide leadership and direction to Transportation Supervisor and Driver Team in an effective, positive, and value focused manner adhering to all company policies at all times employed with MHX.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills

High School diploma or equivalent required (Degree/Cert in Logistics/Transportation Studies is preferred)

4+ years of industry related experience (i.e. transload, CDL driver, logistics/transportation supervisory or management, etc.)

Certification Required - as needed for particular equipment

Certification Preferred-Ability to possess a TWIC card (Harbor Loaders)

Operation Monitoring - Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a equipment is operating properly and is not in need of service

Judgment and Decision Making - Consider the cost and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one

Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

Troubleshooting - Determine causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it

Communication - Ability to communicate both orally and in writing

Attention to Detail - Ability to identify details, differences or problems in all aspects of job duties

Active Listening - Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying and ask questions as appropriate

Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents

Social Perceptiveness - Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do
