The Manufacturing Process Engineer will be responsible for all manufacturing aspects associated with kSARIA's military fiber optic and electrical cable assembly products. This position will play a lead role in developing manufacturing processes for the introduction of new products into production, as well as, supporting technical problem solving related to manufacturing aspects of products already in production. The ideal candidate must be a hands-on problem solver and have a thorough understanding of military grade cable assemblies. This position will report to the Manufacturing Process Engineering Manager
Responsibilities include the following:
Develop work instructions and manufacturing processes for fiber optic and electrical assembly products.
Support the proposal activity for new customers and products.
Assess and provide feedback for customer cable designs.
Verification of designs and ECO review.
Conduct root cause failure analysis and develop processes to reduce rework.
Establishes standard assembly and test procedures for the manufacture of the company's cable assembly products.
Design tooling and fixtures needed for manufacturing.
Provide training, support, and supervision to assembly technicians.
Develop and implement new processes, programs, and procedures to increase factory efficiency.
Proven track record as a senior manufacturing engineer with military cable assembly products
Knowledge of fiber optic termination processes preferred (company will train if necessary)
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Detail oriented and quality metric driven.
Experience in implementation of 5s and lean manufacturing tools.
US Citizenship required for US Department of Defense work.
Exceptional working knowledge of all MS Office software products (Word, Excel, etc.)
Working knowledge of a drawing software tool such as MS Visio, AutoCAD, Solidworks, or equivalent
Working knowledge of IPC-620 and IPC-610 standards
Minimum of 5-8 yrs relevant experience
BSME, BSEE, or applicable technical degree minimum
Fluency in English (verbal and written)
Familiarity with military fiber optics and military connectors is a plus.
