The High Voltage Battery Team is responsible for the design of high voltage battery pack design. The HV Thermal System/ Cell Engineer is responsible for the thermal system including battery cell characteristics, electrical component heat generation calculation, and battery cooling system. The main job of this position is reviewing cooling system with the HV battery supplier in China to optimize the battery performance and to communicate with vehicle team and BMS team to work on the thermal system logic.
Define technical and regulatory requirements of battery cooling system
Strong working knowledge in FEA/CFD to create heat transfer analysis through excellent thermal system knowledge
Must have excellent knowledge in battery cell and module to review accurate thermal simulation model of the battery pack
Work with external supplier to ensure the component meets all requirements
Coordinate and lead weekly teleconferences with suppliers
Define thermal system DFMEA as well as component level DFMEA.
Write/review DVP&R and work with the test and the validation engineer to validate the cooling system requirements
Must have proven hands-on experience in thermal and mechanical analysis and manufacturing
Must have experience in high volume manufacturing, working with suppliers, and manufacturing team.
Work with vehicle team to support requirements from vehicle team
Analyze data, develop conclusions, and manage design revisions
Ensure all standards and requirements are met
Ensure meeting SOP timing plan
Review and approve component PPAP submission
BS in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 5 years experience in thermal system and simulation
Design release experience in automotive industry
Experience in working with supply chain and quality engineering for supplier selection
MS in Mechanical Engineering
7+ years experience in thermal system and simulation
Excellent understanding in DFMEA and PFMEA
Over 3 years of design release experience in thermal system
A self-starting engineer who acts on what needs to be done
Speaks Mandarin .Requirements:
