POSITION SUMMARY

The Director, Strategic Business Development will develop, orchestrate, and implement strategies to ensure Envisions long-term growth and profitability. The role will work across the organization to develop the long-term strategic plan and prioritize strategic initiatives, with a key emphasis on development of new customer relationships while leveraging Envisions existing contract vehicles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE

  • Regularly create and develop new business opportunities that result in substantial growth in employment or substantial operating income.
  • Expand the profile and reach of Envision, by growing its customers and significantly increasing sales through Envisions existing contract vehicles.
  • Using critical path methodology, implement new processes and/or new business development initiatives. Create and measure monthly metrics using fact-based analytics to effectively share progress and measure outcomes.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain an Industries Heat Map to effectively track DOD spending habits.
  • Monitor and evaluate DOD and Federal Agency spending trends and customer drivers. Meet regularly with management and stakeholders to discuss the written plan(s) that you created and any significant tactical initiatives, to ensure alignment with Envisions 3-year strategic plan.


  • Effectively develop and apply strategic and business analysis to communicate opportunities.
  • Maintain monthly Pipeline and KPI reporting for the Executive leaders and for use in organizational planning, financial forecasting, business reviews and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with BSC Store Management to develop sales and marketing initiatives-specifically geared toward those potential customers not currently doing business with Envision.
  • Support BSC Store Management on sales initiatives targeting current customer base. Educating this customer base on Envision`s Capabilities and Procurement Vehicles, beyond the use of GPC and Form 9`s.
  • Travel to meet with customers regularly, attend value added conferences, vendor meetings, and industry events.
  • Flexibility to perform other job duties as assigned.



Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE

Education: Bachelors degree, MBA or equivalent.

Experience:

    • Minimum of 10 years sales and/or business development experience.
    • Demonstrated consistent success managing multiple customer accounts while meeting and exceeding target goals.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Proficiency in customer relationship management software preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of state and federal government
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects while working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as strong presentation skills and ability to negotiate with all levels of management.


  • Experience in strategy consulting or corporate strategy/business.
  • Strategy consulting and corporate experience are highly valued.
  • Analytic problem solving. Strategic smarts.
  • Collaborative work style.
  • Ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers, establishing and maintaining productive and positive relationships while representing the mission of Envision.
  • Must be highly organized; attention to detail a must.
  • Must be self-disciplined, motivated, and able to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Total commitment and effort required to meet and exceed assigned forecasted sales and team objectives.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends based on client and office demands.
  • Ability to travel 60% of the time in the field with customers (both air and driving travel).

Required to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment such as forklifts.
