POSITION SUMMARY

A Support Lead is responsible assisting a departments production including machine set-up, employee training and administrative functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Perform set-up of machines and production lines at the beginning of shift and throughout shifts as needed according to job specifications and production schedule; monitor and make adjustments on machines to improve technical and/or production efficiencies
  • Train employees on equipment and procedures
  • Ensure any excess components are returned to inventory appropriately and report any scrap or damaged product (components or finished goods)
  • Report any discrepancies to supervisor/manager and to production planner
  • Identify and solve complex technical machine problems; effectively involve work cell team members in problem solving basic technical machine problems
  • Effectively communicate with work cell team members; maintain a positive attitude and a willingness to share knowledge and teach/train team on operating equipment and production assembly functions
  • Monitor production of jobs with assemblers and machine operators for quality; report any problems to supervisor and include maintenance tech or quality tech as appropriate
  • Work with supervisor to ensure that assemblers and machine operators have necessary components and supplies and machines are properly safeguarded
  • Maintain high quality standards according to job specifications. Ensure work cell team members perform quality checks as directed.
  • Notify production supervisor on areas of concern regarding personnel issues
  • Maintain current and up-to-date on technical skills with respect to equipment /machinery by attending required training classes
  • Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned
  • Work under general supervision



Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred

Experience: 3-4 years experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing production environment with proven attendance record. Exposure to manufacturing environment preferred.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Possess extensive knowledge of the technical principals and concepts of all machines
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to solve technical problems of a complex nature
  • Knowledge of operational processes, systems, tools, and workflow for assigned area
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals and skill levels.
  • Math and computer skills necessary to create and/or update documents and spreadsheets.
  • Working knowledge of company policies and procedures
  • Possess a positive work attitude and a willingness to carry out instructions
  • Ability to express and share knowledge and ideas in a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task
