Hydrasearch is looking for a V.P. of Engineering & Quality to join our team in Stevensville on Maryland`s Eastern Shore.
Hydrasearch is involved in the design, development, and manufacturing of fluid systems and components utilized in demanding military and commercial applications. Our products can be found on submarines, surface ships, helicopters, fixed wing aircraft, tanks, and ground equipment throughout the world.
In this role you will plan, organize, and direct the engineering and quality departments to meet company objectives for process adherence, new product development, and manufacturing support. You will be critical in assisting the transformation of Hydrasearch from an ISO company to an AS9100 company to facilitate aggressive growth demands. You will also provide vision for engineering and quality to meet OEM and DOD customer needs.
Responsibilities: - Oversee key projects, processes and performance reports for both Quality and Engineering.
- Responsible for Quality and Engineering departments adherence to AS9100D.
- Report to President of Company and develop a structure to the Engineering department to meet customer demands.
- Select, develop, train, and supervise staff.
- Review and monitor quality and process improvements.
- Direct appropriate support for manufacturing and quality functions within the organization.
- Oversee that transition of technical documents are housed into PDM and staff adheres to new processes.
- Review and validation of manufactured part conformance to end user/government requirements.
- Review technical specifications, technical requirement documents, design descriptions, test procedures, and test reports.
- Provide technical support to purchasing and vendors.
- Establish acceptable performance and quality specifications for products.
Competencies: - Proven team leadership ability, including coaching and mentoring for professional growth and development.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes including castings, CNC machining, and 3D printing.
- Knowledge of metal material properties.
- Ability to understand and execute processes as outlined by QMS such as ISO or AS9100.
- Organized and self-starting with strong project management skills.
- Experience with SolidWorks, CAD, PDM
- Strong computer skills, and proficiency in a wide variety of systems, including ERP systems.
- Must demonstrate strong communication skills including written, verbal, and presentation.
- Must have proven troubleshooting, process improvement capabilities.
- Ability to provide vision and structure for growing technical teams.

Education Required
Bachelors or better in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience Required
5 years: Engineering management
10 years: Manufacturing environment required, metal machining preferred
Preferred
ASQ Certification or equivalent
Black Belt Six SIgma preferred
