Duties and Responsibilities
Assist/lead team in data collections or field verifications for projects including code review, site verifications, performance testing, and other items as needed.
Conduct building performance evaluations and audits, including commissioning, re-commissioning, and retro-commissioning activities.
Participate in construction meetings and collaborate with contractors regarding testing requirements.
Implement, document, and follow testing procedures.
Interpret and apply applicable/fundamental codes for design.
Provides technical assistance to Commissioning Authority where required.
Can occasionally stand in for Commissioning Authority when required.
Perform and document quality inspections on installation of systems.
Creates / maintains progress reports and issues resolutions log.
Assists Commissioning Authority in resolving inconsistencies or with training needs.
Confirms system operating conditions per the owner`s project specification guidelines.
Good understanding of the commissioning and retro-commissioning process.
Develop and write pre-functional checklists and functional testing plans for new and modified equipment.
Work onsite with contractors to ensure equipment is functioning according to manufactures guidelines.
Write commissioning progress reports, and final commissioning reports for client`s specifications.
Familiar with various types of software for energy modeling.
Applies applicable energy and construction codes for design and analysis.
Develops and maintains the tools to effectively track commissioning projects.
Communicate effectively with team members, program manager(s), other disciplines, outside vendors and Clients through multiple media to obtain necessary information for documents.
Interface with Program Clients under the supervision of the Project Manager.
Make independent recommendations and decisions on procedures used during design process; communicate these decisions with other members of the project team.
Organize and prepare necessary project/program related materials such as reports and travel packets, including stamping/packaging of documents as needed.
Prepare design calculations with ability to apply engineering fundamentals.
Perform design review in collaboration with the Project team, Program Manager, Senior Team Members, and/or Professional of Record.
Produce a variety of project documents for multiple project types based on general guidelines set by Client and Senior Staff.
Work with utilities to apply for energy efficiency rebates on behalf of clients. Skills and Abilities

Must have one or more of the following:
Bachelor`s degree in Refrigeration or Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university and 1 year work experience in the Mechanical, Refrigeration, or Energy field or Energy design industry.
5 years applicable work experience conducting site visits, performance testing, or commissioning activities.
Applicable work experience with Revit and/or AutoCAD
3 years` experience with complex Refrigeration, HVAC lighting and power systems, including the ability to evaluate, troubleshoot and perform measurements on systems to align with clients written specification.
Certified Building Commissioning Technician (CxT), Certified Energy Manager, LEED, or CxA.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Regular & frequent travel will be required.
Workdays of 9 to 12 hours in length, or more, will occur.
Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
