MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for exercising considerable discretion and judgment in the selection, application and modification of standard procedures and equipment involved in analyzing raw materials, pollution samples, process samples, and propellants submitted to the Quality Assurance Department. Communicating recommendations with personnel on projects and equipment for the laboratory. Design and develop new and improved testing methods that will improve the quality and/or accuracy of testing. Responsible for all testing, training and safety of the assigned lab. Evaluate all test data to ensure its validity and maintain records.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: BS degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. 3-5 years of chemical lab experience preferably with familiarity of chemical instruments FTIR, LC, GC and AA.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/SPECIAL SKILLS Good communication/interpersonal skills, leadership, attention to detail, dependable, good attendance, ethical, trustworthy and excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Successful candidates must also possess strong troubleshooting and technical capabilities to be considered an expert in the field of analytical techniques must be capable of leading independent work-studies and projects. Must be able to effectively communicate with outside agencies, auditors and suppliers as necessary
US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance is required.
