We develop and manufacture new-generation products for the healthcare, telecommunications, energy and defense markets. Our products are used to measure, monitor and improve critical processes in the markets we serve. We are seeking a Materials Research Scientist in our Virginia location. This position will support a number of programs involving electronic and electromagnetic coatings, adhesives, and materials. The position will be responsible for applications development and materials characterization with an emphasis on electronic and magnetic properties of materials. The Materials Research Scientist will investigate new materials to improve performance, suggest potential solutions, and provide input for new areas of research. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, function well in a dynamic cross-disciplinary environment, and be able to think independently to solve problems. The candidate must have the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical personnel both internally and externally. Required: Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemistry, Polymer Science, or related discipline At least 2 years of experience after doctorate, including program management experience Recent experience conducting and/or directing research in the areas of coatings, adhesives, sealants, and/or polymeric nano-composites Excellent written and oral communication skills Technical or proposal writing experience US Citizenship required, Existing Security Clearance Desirable
