ENGINEERING PROGRAM MANAGER (Durham, NC., Research Triangle Park area.) Our vision is to become the pre-eminent and worldwide leader of high performance RF power devices based on GaN technology. Description: Program Management position for existing programs. The job will entail managing multiple diverse projects on development programs. Duties will include coordinating and directing the program team, interfacing with customers and subcontractors, and regularly presenting program status to internal management. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Job functions include risk management and schedule management assuring the projects technical, cost, and schedule performance. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. The program manager will also support the pursuit and proposal activities of new contracts. Participate in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Support the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Establish design concepts, criteria, and engineering efforts for research, development, integration and test. Develop new business and/or expands the product line/program with the customer. Required Experience: Key attributes include excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience in planning and scheduling development programs. The candidate should have demonstrated success in a program or technical leadership position and should have experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams. Previous leadership experience must include the successful pursuit, capture, and performance of new contracts. A highly qualified candidate will also be an acknowledged subject matter expert in III-Nitride HFET solid-state devices and have solid technical knowledge in experimentation, modeling, materials, processing and device physics. Business development skills as well as technical rigor highly desired. Required Skills: MS or PhD with at least 3-5 years experience or equivalent in advanced solid-state semiconductor device development programs. Strong interpersonal and presentation skills for interfacing with customers. Leadership of advanced solid-state semiconductor device development programs with successful program outcome. Proficient with MSProject or equivalent. Preferred experience with proposal writing, SBIR and STTR reporting requirements, and related government regulations. Proven familiarity with data analysis (JMP, etc) strongly desired. MS with at least 3-5 years experience, PhD, or equivalent Must have strong research and engineering management skills Must have strong presentation skills with ability to interface directly with customers Experience in leadership of advanced solid-state semiconductor device development programs (3+ years) Business development skills as well as technical rigor highly desired Experience with III-Nitride HFET device design, processing, and materials also highly desired (3+ years)
