Our client is a national manufacturer of various industrial and building products. Client was established in 1939 and is headquartered in Alabama. Client has 17 manufacturing and distribution sites in the US and Canada and is a subsidiary of a very large company which has 7365 locations.
Client is seeking candidates for the position of Outside Sales Representative for the South East RegionSW Region. The territory will include parts of southern California, Arizona, and Los Vegas. The successful candidates will have the following qualifications:
Job Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business, or related field and up to 5 years outside sales experience. Experience selling industrial and building products desired. The position will requires 50 75% heavy travel and will be based in Fontana, CA.
Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills Ability to use basic Word, Excel, and e-mail functions. Understand how to use components of company operating system that relates to job.
Other Skills and Abilities Extensive knowledge of products and manufacturing capabilities. Able to read and understand basic drawings and sketches. Safe driving record and ability to travel to customer locations.
Responsibilities:
Territory accounts Establish and maintain key sales contacts with current and potential accounts to ensure opportunities for growth are acted upon.
Prepare and implement plans for daily call cycles and submit these for management review.
Territory performance Review territory performance by product on a monthly basis. Prepare a weekly or monthly report as requested by the Project Sales Group Manager, describing market activity and competitive conditions.
Territory information and communication Maintain close liaison with Inside Sales, at least twice per day, to update each other.
Communicate complete order requirements, including documents / drawings etc., to ensure that customers requirements and product specifications are clear.
Maintain customer records of pertinent information, conversations, and meetings to ensure that unique customer requirements are maintained.
Ensure that all required reports such as expense accounts, mileage reports, territory and other job related reports are sent to management on time.
Other Maintain company sales tools (literature, promotional items, samples etc.) and ensure they are kept in a clean and presentable fashion prior to delivering.
Ensure all company equipment (phones, fax machines, vehicles, etc.) are kept in a clean/good working condition and maintained as required.
