Excel your abilities as a second level WAN Support Engineer with a company that provides network services from planning and designing of network systems to daily operations.
Lead the drive as a WAN Support Engineer at a company with experience in building global voice and data network systems according to customer needs, plus offering project management services, as well as administration of all processes, and outsourcing of operation and administration according to client needs.
WAN Support Engineer Duties:
Support international WAN solutions for large, Fortune 500 clients.
As the second level WAN Support Engineer you will operate within the Network Management Center for external customers.
The position is essential to meeting all agreed SLA metrics as contracted and to minimize service impacts to customers through strict compliance with backup, notification and escalation processes. A high level of customer focus is required with an ability to comprehend complex issues quickly, a desire to develop technically is considered crucial.
Must be willing to do rotating shift work
All shifts are 12 hours, shifts rotate after four weeks. Work 3 days, 4 days, 3 nights, 4 nights over the course of 16 weeks.
- Proactively monitoring customer networks via the use of network tools
- Taking escalated calls from F500 customers
- Taking immediate corrective action to restore services
- Drive resolution through third parties such as carriers maintenance teams
- Maintaining customer communications during the problem resolution
- Escalating issues in accordance with ITIL procedures
- Conduct regular testing of networks and services in accordance with ITIL processes
- Adherence and compliance to processes and tasks assigned/requested by management team

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Must have at least 18 months experience diagnosing, trouble shooting, and supporting Cisco Routers in a customer facing and technical role
--Must have a bachelors degree with a technical major and an excellent GPA from a top university
Cisco and Microsoft Windows Network Understanding
CCNA Certification essential (CCNP Preferred)
Must have experience supporting multi-protocol WANs including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, etc.
