Inventory Control Manager

Job Location: Manhattan, NY

The Warehouse / Inventory Control Manager will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating people and processes in warehouse operations, receive all incoming inventory, ensure that all inventory items are properly identified and readily accessible in accordance with the organizations inventory cycle and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.

Oversee activities directly related to warehouse and inventory operations, utilizing Lean tools and methodologies.

Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives and procedures; conferring with senior leadership, staff members and others within the organization as necessary.

Review financial statements and reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement, and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.

Determine staffing requirements, along with conducting and/or overseeing the interview process. Make hiring decisions and oversee training of new employees.

Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance. Plan and direct activities of others.

Create developmental opportunities for direct reports, as well as for their subordinates.

Establish processes to ensure the highest quality and most efficient deliveries.

Actively pursue succession planning for self and subordinates.

Flexible to deal with issues that arise outside of normal business hours.

Other duties as assigned

Job requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience is preferred

Previous demonstrated leadership in a supervisory role in the distribution/manufacturing industry

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Strong communication (both written and verbal) skills

Strong PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Flexible to deal with issues that arise outside of normal business hours

Executes daily inventory analysis; identifies and resolves discrepancies and problems

Locates items that may have incorrect locations or stock numbers to assist order processors

Communicates with Purchasing Dpt as needed regarding new items, changes of location, counts, etc..
