Specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies using small company agility and big company experience.

The ideal Composites Fabricator II candidate will be capable of working independently or in a small group setting. This position requires the ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment with a focus on quality and attention to detail. Required tasks will include the fabrication of composites using various techniques and types of materials, composites integration, prototyping, painting, composites trimming and bonding, etc. Composites experience, manufacturing experience, and/or aviation maintenance experience are required for this position.

Major Job Activities:

  • Performing all duties required to fabricate and integrate composite parts and assemblies. (75% of the time) Tasks required may include:
  • Constructing wet layups and/or Pre-Pregs of carbon fiber, fiberglass, and/or Kevlar utilizing various methods such as compression molds, vacuum bagging, compression bladders, and resin infusion.
  • Operating ovens to complete bonding cycle. Controlling conditions of heat and time by setting and operating various controls according to the specifications for the materials and the bonding agents being used.
  • Performing minor part-fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming.
  • Bonding a variety of materials (composite, metal, or laminate) to parts, components, assemblies, equipment or structures to complete semi-finished or finished products
  • Documenting new processes, recommends updates for existing processes, and reviews drawings in support of engineering. (10% of the time)
  • Designing and utilizes new templates to be cut out on a laser table or CNC cutting table. (5% of the time)
  • Monitoring and verifying quality of finished product. Measuring parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions. (5% of the time)
  • Identifying and correcting conditions that affect employee safety; upholding corporate safety standards. (5% of the time)
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Must be a U.S. citizen with ability obtain and maintain a TS/SSBI.Must be able to obtain and maintain additional clearances as required
  • High School Diploma
  • Experience in the fabrication and integration of composite materials or experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in all phases of product design and fabrication ranging from initial R&D to full production
  • Proficiency with various shop equipment including: cutting/grinding tools, composite curing ovens, manual mills and lathes, table saw, band saws, etc.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, procedures, and/or schedules
  • Knowledge and understanding of product quality processes
  • At least 2-5 years of composites fabrication experience (including layup, trimming, painting, assembly, etc) or 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment
  • Ability to safely complete all physical activities required in a manufacturing environment including, but not limited to:
  • lifting, pushing, pulling and/or carrying 25-50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • walking, bending, sitting, standing, climbing, and reaching for prolonged periods of time on a regular basis.
  • ability to seize, grasp, turn, hold, and operate manufacturing tools and equipment.
  • willingness and ability to work in a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, dust, fumes, chemicals, and loud noises.
  • Excellent people skills to include collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment
  • Outstanding work ethic and commitment to organizational success
  • Proficient with various hand tools
  • Ability to determine and implement new techniques and/or processes during the development of new systems
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, procedures, and/or schedules
  • Knowledge and understanding of product quality processes
  • Ability to accurately complete all required paperwork
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)

Prefereed Skills

  • Active Secret or TS clearance is desired but not required
  • Aircraft A&P is desired but not required
  • Experience working in an environment that implements lean practices
  • Experience working in an environment that implements ESD and FOD controls
  • Experience with Costpoint and/or Windchill is a plus
  • Aircraft development and production experience is a plus
