6 Month Contract Pay rate: $60-75/hr W2 **Aerospace/Structures Experience, Skilled in using applicable software tools (NASTRAN, FEMAP),Structural Analysis Engineer to support the development of spaceflight systems and components from concept through verification and delivery. Requirements:Minimum of 12 years of experience with BS degree in aerospace, mechanical, or civil engineering or similar discipline. 10 years with a graduate degree in one of these fields. Working knowledge of NASTRAN FEA solver, FEMAP pre and post processor or similar software.Experience performing classical mechanics and mechanical engineering analyses using Excel, MathCad or similar software. Description:
Develop structural concepts and perform preliminary sizing using classical mechanics
calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to meet stiffness, strength and other critical requirements, Support development of fight hardware from preliminary through
detailed design, drawing release, manufacturing, integration, verification testing, and
transportation. Provide structural engineering and analysis support to the IPT to ensure
that the design meets all applicable requirements coordinating schedule, budget and
deliverables with the IPT lead.Generate Finite Element Models and perform FEA for normal modes, linear static stress, elastic stability, clearance loss, distortion as well as nonlinear assessments to predict and improve structural response as needed.Strong analysis background in the design of aerospace structural systems, materials, load
paths, and behavior of structures under all applicable environments including quasistatic
inertial, mechanical, vibro-acoustic, thermal, pressure, and shock environments. Design and analysis knowledge of space flight hardware including spacecraft bus and
instruments structures, deployables, mechanisms, components such as kinematic
mounts, electronic boxes, boards and thermal control systems, optical benches as well
as mechanical ground support equipment. Experience with aerospace structural
construction using metals, sandwich panels, composite materials, plastics and bonded
