This expanding automotive tier 1 supplier is seeking 2 buyers for their purchasing team. They will be involved in the following:
Selection, qualification, and monitoring of new suppliers and processes.
Purchases castings, iron or steel for one position and in the second position tubings or cylinders for prototype and serial production.
Evaluates supplier capabilities and processes.
Supports APQP supplier activities.
Negotiates and implements long term contracts and supplier agreements.
Leads sourcing activities and sourcing decisions for the program
Responsible for the overall Supplier performance related to Quality, Cost and Delivery.
Applies engineering, manufacturing, and quality expertise to reduce material
costs and meet program requirements.
Performs supplier audits and surveys for sourcing selection.
Works closely with the Product Development team to investigate required technologies and suppliers to support new program launches.
Works closely with regional and global commodity Purchasing teams to establish a global
supplier network for new product launches.
This person must come out of an automotive tier 1 supplier - any experience in purchasing machined parts, castings, plastics would be a plus.
