Operations Manager

Job Location: Lima, OH
RM Schulte and Associates has partnered with a local Manufacturing company to hire an Operations Manager

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee all aspects of plant operations with respect to production, quality, and delivery. Responsible for ensuring that all production, shipping, cost, quality, and safety goals are met.
  • Review and analyze safety, quality, productivity, maintenance, and other operational metrics to determine the health of process, continuous improvement opportunities, special and common cause variation, containment and root cause analysis as required, conformance to product specifications, and predictive/preventative maintenance efficiency.
  • Review production schedules, determine workforce requirements and monitor production to ensure customer requirements are met. Lead crisis and contingency management efforts to ensure 100% performance to SPD schedules.
  • Responsible for creating a safe working environment, ensuring implementation of plant safety policies, procedures, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Train, coach and evaluate supervisory and hourly personnel, ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and maintain a positive team environment and foster continuous improvement in all aspects of plant operations – responsible for employee relations, discipline, and issue resolution procedures.
  • Maintain close customer contact on off shifts, and lead all issue resolution efforts to include (but not limited to) delivery performance, quality issue containment, root cause analysis, and engineer change management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field. Will consider equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years hourly and salary supervisory experience. Prefer experience in lean manufacturing/assembly operation
  • Demonstrated leadership, team building, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures
  • Knowledge of blueprint interpretation and GD&T, and basic G&LO procedures
  • Experience with MRP and EDI, SPD and module assembly knowledge preferred
  • Must have good analytical and organizational skills with the ability to meet established deadlines
  • Must be able to multi-task, and prioritize and delegate tasks readily
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able and willing to work extended hours as required (including weekends)
