Role and Responsibilities

· Assist in coordination and development of project framing

· Assist in coordination and development of project specifications

· Assist in coordination of technical studies and Value Improving Practices (VIPs)

· Answer contractors’ technical questions related to interpretation of “owner requirements,” design philosophy, system sketches, and others

· Assist contractor with development of project P&IDs, plot plans, electrical one-lines, area classification and other process safety information

· Ensure technical competency of designs

· Coordinate with Plant subject matter experts to ensure incorporation of Plant requirements

· Coordinate Operations and Maintenance input into the design and engineering

· Interface between project, CPChem, and Chevron ETC subject matter experts

· Manage the project Management of Change process

· Participate in HAZOP reviews

· Manage project design change control and documentation

· Assist in technical bid reviews

· Monitor contractor performance against the project’s execution plan, specifically design, procurement, constructability, and material management objectives

· Perform inspection and review of the facility during construction to confirm compliance with project and contractor specifications

· Coordinate resolution of technical issues between contractor and company construction personnel

· Provide technical support to the commissioning and startup team

· Provide direction in preparation and review of as-built drawings, vendor documentation, and data books.

· Review and accept final process safety information and other documentation

· Maintain Lessons Learned log during each project

· Complete project closeout and IPA requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements

· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required

· Excellent computer skills in Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook required

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills required

· Capability to manage multiple assignments required

· Knowledge of Industry and Company design standards and specifications required

Preferred Skills

· Minimum 5 years project experience required, 10+ years of project engineering experience preferred

· Piping and PRD design experience preferred

· Knowledge of SAP preferred

· Basic knowledge of scheduling and cost estimating principles preferred

· Knowledge of Chevron Project Development and Execution Process (CPDEP) a plus
