Bartlett Milling produces a wide range of specially formulated feeds for dairy cattle, beef cattle, horses, swine, poultry, dogs, game birds, rabbits, deer, goats, sheep and ducks. Our dedication to quality service is demonstrated in our nutritionist, who works with industry experts on feed formulations as well as working directly with producers to address feeding issues. We deliver both bulk and bagged feed directly to customers. Our feeds also are available through retail outlets throughout the southeast.
Bartlett Milling sells feeds and other animal care products through our distribution centers in Goldsboro and Shelby, North Carolina, Florence, South Carolina, and Rustburg, Virginia.
Bartlett Milling Company is seeking an experienced animal feed business manager to lead and support all aspects of Bartlett’s feed business. The functions of the Business Manager include ingredient sourcing, feed formulation, strategic planning, building relationships with customers, and profitability of the feed business.
The position is an excellent opportunity for an industry manager to advance in the feed industry towards senior management. The position requires a well-rounded business leader with demonstrable success in the feed industry.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary is competitive for the position, based on education level and experience.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree is required; preferred MS or PhD degree in agricultural business, animal science, or related areas.
- Preferred 5 years of experience in related animal feed industry.
- Expertise in livestock management practices.
- Strong leadership ability and experience managing personnel.
- Proven sales experience.
- Excellent written and communication skills: strong organizational and time management abilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Formulate feeds for all species of livestock.
- Manage and develop pet food value-mix and distribution.
- Source and manage ingredient inventory.
- Develop and implement strategies and promotion to support market growth and profitability.
- Assist strategic planning, market forecasts, and budgeting.
- Provide technical services to Bartlett sales force.
- Maintain regulatory requirements and support implementation of new regulations.
- A candidate must demonstrate a highly-disciplined approach to the described management duties.
Physical Demands and Requirements
This job is not physically strenuous, but customer facilities may present different physical demands. You will need the ability to lift, push and pull up to 20 pounds and occasionally more. This job may require the ability to ascend/descend stairs.
This job requires the ability to read and comprehend written and oral operational and safety instructions and related rules, policies and memos, and to communicate clearly with personnel at all levels and customers.
It is important to have vision that permits close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The ability to identify and distinguish colors is also important.
This job is primarily indoors, but may include some outdoor work in all types of weather and temperature environments.
