Agency Compliance Engineer

Job Location: Grand rapids, MI

One of our well-respected clients is in search of an Agency Compliance Engineer II. This person is accountable to the Manager of Product Compliance. This position manages the maintenance of existing Agency Approval Files, institutes product description and test result documentation on new products, and revisions to existing products. This position will require interaction with internal Associates primarily, with medium exposure to outside contacts. Primarily Responsible For: 1) Oversee Agency Approval and Failure Mode Effect Testing to ensure that testing is done to Agency Standards and documentation is complete and accurate. Actually perform selected tests as required. 2) Maintain U.L. Test Lab Certification by providing proper training to selected Lab Technicians and communication to same of any new U.L. certification requirements. U.L. training to be coordinated with Test Lab Coordinator. 3) Manages over 60 current product approval file projects, which will include the timely resolution of report discrepancies and variation notices. Assist with agency follow up inspection visits and resolve any discrepancies discovered. 4) Coordinate, develop, document and track U.L. test plans in cooperation with Product Development Engineers, and Manager of Product Compliance for the approval of revisions to existing and/or the approval of new products. Put final report in proper form to meet Agency requirements. 5) Verify the documentation of safety critical components data files received from the Product Development Engineers ensuring that they are complete, meet all technical design guide requirements and comply with Agency Standards. 6) Assist with Alternate materials, Engineering change, and Maintenance Team meetings. Manage multiple projects throughout the year, and estimate agency approval project cost and timing. Authorize test protocol and install approval activities with Agencies. 7) Write U.L. Product description reports for new products and/or revisions to existing products. Review test results reports and advise changes, additions, and/or revisions as required. Secondarily Responsible For: 8) Conduct product development procedure phase Safety/Agency reviews with approval of any open issues by Manager of Product Compliance. 9) Advance knowledge and skills in support of all disciplines appropriate to this job function. 10) Plan with Manager in setting departmental goals. Institute and implement supporting plans and projects. 11) Review and approve Agency Product Description and Test result reports that are generated in the certified test lab. 12) May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
