Client, an innovative manufacturer of gas compression equipment, is currently seeking a Fluid Dynamics Engineer for their facility in the Columbus, Ohio area.
Responsibilities:
-> Responsible for the evaluation and study of compressor cylinder gas flow to improve cylinder efficiency and lubrication -> Plans and conducts all applicable testing and reports results -> Creates computer models to describe and simulate physical phenomena -> Develops and improves tools, techniques and procedures including CFD to ensure modeling and testing is performed in a timely manner consistent with client's needs and objectives
Requirements:
-> Master's Degree (PhD Preferred) in Mechanical Engineering with focus in Fluid Dynamics required. Professional Engineer certification preferred -> 5 - 10 years experience in the mechanical engineering field preferably in an industry developing machines with moving parts, experience preferred in a research and development role. PhD taken into consideration in lieu of practical experience -> Demonstrated proficiency in mathematics - particularly integral and differential calculus -> Strong knowledge of fluid flow and thermodynamics (vibration, stress, strain and structural) -> Advanced computer skills, programming experience in MATLAB, C++ or equivalent
