Opening in the Pasadena, CA area for a Structural Designer to develop difficult and complex working drawings from equipment specifications, engineering notes, sketches, calculations and/or detailed drawings for industrial-type projects and plant design. Local candidates only. US Citizenship is required to be considered.
Responsibilities:
-> Utilizes CAD to prepare engineering drawings consisting of standard arrangements, and layouts, from rough sketches and/or from general engineering and design information
-> Work closely with other Designer/ Drafters and Engineers to ensure a coordinated design
-> Work in 2D and 3D CAD environments and reads and understand orthographic 2-D drawings, 3-D designs, and supplier/manufacturer's drawings
-> Make required changes, additions, and /or revisions, as directed by immediate supervisor.
Requirements:
-> 2-year technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter course (or equivalent)
-> Must have recent industrial-type projects and plant design experience
-> 6 or more years of relevant experience
-> Proficient in the use of MicroStation & FrameWorks Plus
-> PC literacy, proficiency in utilizing CAD and other computer software to complete design assignments
Benefits:
-> Will work a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off
