A marine communications company is actively seeking a Hardware Design Engineer for a full time opportunity in sunny Florida! Please ensure that your resume clearly reflects the requirements of the position and answering the questionnaire will accelerate your review process.
Responsibilities:
-> Design and develop hardware based systems and products, including circuit design, board layout, prototype construction and debugging
-> Establish Bill of Materials and other product documentation
-> Write Manufacturing Process, Installation Guide and Test Procedures as required for products
-> Support the internal and outsourced build process for products
-> Provide third tier support for products as required including support of field technicians and customers to resolve equipment failures
-> Determining the cause and solution of any problems with new designs and prototypes and new third party equipment
-> Performing the necessary analyses, tests, and other troubleshooting procedures to identify the cause and solution of problems with existing products which are returned from customers, but where no obvious manufacturing defect was identified by the Testing Department
Requirements:
-> Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
-> Minimum 5 years related work experience in electrical design
-> Working knowledge of circuit design and use of circuit board design tools such as Eagle
-> Experience with all lab test and assembly equipment, including, digital voltmeters, spectrum analyzers and oscilloscope
-> Proficient RF/HF experience
-> Strong knowledge of IP communications protocols
-> Troubleshooting digital electronics to the component level
-> Systems level understanding of communications systems
-> Occasional domestic and international travel in support of equipment installations
-> Strong Windows / Linux proficiency and networking knowledge (a PLUS)
