Immediate opening for a qualified Mechanical Engineer with masters degree for a pharmaceutical business unit Principal Engineer position with a leading medical device manufacturer at its Northern NJ location. Competitive salary (salary range posting withheld by client - applicant to include salary desired).
Responsibilities:
-> Under B.U. manager, is key engineer in planning and directing new product development, line extensions, and product and manufacturing processes improvements
-> Includes product investigation, invention, prototype, design, testing and validation using existing and new technology processes
-> Functions as technical core team member or as Core Team Leader in cross-functional, multi-task teams
-> Help identify and foresee problems and how they impact manufacturing, development and product success
-> Prepares Master Implementation plan
-> Works closely with designers, marketing and sales, and customers for product design input requirements
-> Assigns tasks to technicians and CAD designers
-> Collaborate with members of medical profession during product design and testing
-> Provide customer tech support where required
-> Continues technology transfer activity for a relevant period of time after initial production start up
Requirements:
-> BSME, and at least a Masters in Business Administration, ME or related Engineering or Manufacturing discipline (MBA preferred)
-> 7+ years medical device product development and related high volume manufacturing experience
-> Demonstrated knowledge of plastic and metal component design and injection molding
-> Mechanical engineering background in injection devices related to vaccines and pre-filled drug delivery devices a plus
-> Experience with biomed fluids and polymers a plus
-> Project Management certifications and training a plus
-> Must be a skilled and determined communicator and negotiator
-> Must have strong leadership skills and be very relationship and collaborative oriented
-> Successful track record in mechanical product development engineering of high volume medical devices
