A leading power solutions company in the Hartford Connecticut needs an Electrical Engineer for the design of electrical and electronic systems on a 6+ months contract.
Responsibilities:
-> Responsible for the design of electrical and electronic systems used with alternative energy systems including fuel cell, micro turbine and geothermal power plants -> Will also have project involvement with component requirements definition, hardware specification, procurement, assembly and testing
Requirements:
-> BSEE. PLUS MSEE -> 5+ years demonstrated hands on experience with electrical systems, such as Variable Speed Drives/ Inverters -> Electrical system level design, testing and certification with understanding of design to NEC and UL508 -> Experience with power distribution & protection (12/24/48VDC, 120/208Vac and 480Vac) at current levels up to several hundred amps -> Ability to work safely with high voltage systems <1000 Volts in test labs and on equipment in the field -> Understanding of EMC design and grounding principles and familiarity with industry electrical standards - UL, NEC, SAE, IEC -> Familiarity with sensors, transducers, and power plant instrumentation
