Leading manufacturer located near Boulder, CO has an immediate need for a Technical Lead with high power (10 kW +) switch mode power supply design experience. Experience with plasma loads is preferred.
Responsibilities:
-> Direct and perform research, design, development, testing, and documentation of products or systems -> Work with customers to understand equipment/system requirements and ensure the best solution for the application -> Mentor engineers and cross-functional colleagues -> Leverage contacts to resolve significant matters and influence strategic direction
Requirements:
-> M.S. Electrical Engineering required, PhD desired -> 10+ years experience with high power (10 kW +) switch mode power supply design, plasma load experience preferred -> Hands on experience and understanding of thermal management, magnetics design, power semiconductors, and their applications -> Understanding of analog and digital control strategies -> Experience interacting with customers to define architecture and product requirements -> Experience with simulation tools (MATLAB, Simulink, Saber preferred) -> Experience with thermal analysis, mechanical packing, and EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) related skills -> Familiarity with design for manufacturability, failure mode and effects analysis, reliability calculations and methods is a plus -> Approximately 10% international travel
