International Distribution Manager, Dry Products

Position Summary
Koch Fertilizer, LLC is looking for an International Distribution Manager to manage dry bulk vessel distribution and operations activity for handy size vessels loading/discharging dry fertilizer for all KF business in the Eastern Hemisphere. This will include all KF offtake, terminal and 3rd party positions.
Vessel Distribution responsibilities will include:
- Managing overall dry vessel distribution for KF, focused on the Eastern Hemisphere
- Managing relationships with Global set of traders
- Facilitating freight discussions between traders/chartering
- Managing relationships with suppliers, customers, agents, and ports to schedule deliveries
- Port travel as necessary to gain a better understanding of the operations, restrictions, processes and identifying potential compliance gaps of all ports of call for dry fertilizer
- Managing load/discharge port inspection nominations to ensure product quality
- Managing agency appointments
- Credit control (prepayment, CAD terms)
- Managing KF’s dry fertilizer inventory position to facilitate supply decisions
- Managing system entries for the product purchase/sale transaction, accruals for inspection and customs fees, and accruals for freight, demurrage, and dispatch
- Oversee product invoice payment process
- Managing US import declarations and duty payments, and import records retention
Dry bulk operations responsibilities will include:
- Managing the ship vetting process; facilitating requests through the vetting process
- Managing the operations relationships with owners and brokers
- Managing vessel operations including: nominations/acceptance and lifting subs; communication with agents, Master and crew; voyage orders; settling port cost accounts; freight invoice approval; understand/optimize cargo loadings according to berth/port restrictions, prepare lay time calcs; finalize voyage cost results
Requirements
- 10+ yrs of overall vessel distribution experience or 7+ years of dry bulk vessel distribution experience
- Proven leadership skills
- Ownership mentality
- Critical thinking skills & independent thinker
- Attention to detail; able to multi-task
- Flexible: this role requires an individual to be available 24 hour per day/7 days a week
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work with a variety of people/groups
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
Preferred
- Dry bulk fertilizer experience
- Experience with ports in US, Caribbean, Mexico, Brazil
