Description:
Koch Fertilizer, LLC and its subsidiaries own and invest in nitrogen fertilizer production and storage capacity in North America, Europe, Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela. The company's fertilizer interests manufacture, market and distribute more than 8 million metric tons of nitrogen products annually. Koch Nitrogen Company, LLC owns and operates facilities in Oklahoma, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska which produce anhydrous ammonia, UAN and urea. Koch Fertilizer Canada ULC, operates a production facility in Brandon, Manitoba which produces primarily anhydrous ammonia, ammonium nitrate, UAN and urea. In addition, Koch Fertilizer, LLC owns storage and terminaling assets in northwest Europe with trading offices in Switzerland, France and United Kingdom.
Position Summary:
Koch Fertilizer, LLC has an immediate opening for a Sr. Tax Analyst. This position is an excellent opportunity in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment. Koch Fertilizer’s tax compliance team is responsible for all aspects of income tax compliance with respect to the global Fertilizer operations including US tax return compliance for both domestic and international operations, position management, and audit support.
Responsibilities for this role include:
• Assist in US Federal income tax compliance including work paper preparation and review, consolidation of multiple entities, develop summaries of information supporting certain deductions and credits, and identify tax planning opportunities throughout the process
• Assist in handling state and local income, franchise, annual report and other compliance filings
• Support both Federal, state and foreign audits, as needed
• Support FAS 109 reporting through return to provision analysis and other supporting schedules
• Work with accounting personnel to provide tax support documentation for financial statement audits and consolidated tax filings
• Work with and support all members of the Koch Tax Group worldwide in meeting our compliance requirements
• Assist with planning opportunities for non-US and US entities
Requirements:
• Excellent technical writing and editing skills, as well as strong verbal communication skills
• Strong interest and aptitude for project management
• Strong compliance orientation
• Strong desire to create value within the role and responsibilities assigned
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Bachelor degree in accounting from an accredited University
Preferred
• 4+ years tax experience
• Experience working with corporate and partnership tax compliance
• Demonstrated working knowledge of accounting theory to ascertain potential tax ramifications of complex business transactions
• Demonstrated knowledge of a broad range of corporate tax matters, particularly federal tax provision and compliance experience
• Previous major CPA firm or large multi-national corporation experience
• FAS 109 accounting experience for income taxes
• Master’s degree in Taxation from an accredited University
• CPA certification
