Position Summary:
The Application Systems Analyst provides system support for all Koch Supply & Trading applications and works in conjunction with existing Application Support capabilities. The Application Systems Analyst is responsible for overseeing and providing support for nearly two hundred specialized business, trading, and supply applications on a company-wide level.

Candidates for the job should possess strong analytical skills and have a demonstrable knowledge of business processes, applications, and infrastructure. Ideal candidates are capable of identifying, managing, and implementing system/process improvements and also of building and maintaining business relationships with internal clients and vendors. The candidate should also be proactive, team-oriented, possess good interpersonal communication skills, and have a motivating passion for the discovery, investigation, and utilization of new, cutting-edge technologies. As well as managing and monitoring applications, the Application Systems Analyst is also a driving participant in the software development life cycle, aligning with business and development teams to ensure application supportability. The applicant should be a strong manager and facilitator who can effectively participate in project requirements gathering, building, testing, cost tracking, and budgeting. Candidates can expect to work closely with a diverse group of technology and business professionals.

The Application Systems Analyst is also responsible for:
• Providing analysis and problem definition for production issues.
• Consulting with users to identify current operating procedures and clarify application objectives.
• Streamlining and improving existing processes.
• Participate in the change control and migration process.
• Participating in an on-call support rotation which provides technical support twenty-four hours a day.
• Authors documentation to describe application installation and operating procedures.
• Ensuring system availability by reviewing and helping to set maintenance schedules.
• Proactively identifying areas of risk and recommending solutions.

Requirements:
• Working knowledge of application monitoring tools and techniques.
• Working knowledge of server administration tools and techniques.
• Working knowledge of network & server concepts and architecture.
• Working knowledge of database programming tools and techniques.
• Study in the area of Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, Computer Information systems, or work equivalent.

Prefer the following:
Knowledge of Server & Network administration
Knowledge of NetIQ, MOM, & HPOpenview
Knowledge in Unix, Solaris, MS Windows;
Knowledge in Citrix System Administration
Knowledge in Database Administration (SQL, Oracle)
Knowledge in Java, & various scripting languages
Knowledge of Project Management
Framework & Software Development
Life Cycle Experienced Office skills Access, Excel, DOS Batch, MS Windows 2000/2003
