Introduction
The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), a national leader in scientific research and development, located midway between Baltimore and Washington, DC is seeking a Cyber Intelligence Analyst.
Responsibilities
The VES Group is dedicated to providing the design and development of leading edge capabilities for next generation intelligent enterprise-scale IT, including content, communications, and services. The successful cyber intelligence analyst will contribute to solving multifaceted cyber analytical problems and developing cyber-analytic tools. - Understands sponsor requirements, formulates their problems relating to cyber-analytic challenges and devises solutions.
Performs cyber-analytical data analysis on large (terabyte-scale) data sets
Lead and participate in efforts that advance the science of analytics by developing and documenting new tactics, techniques and procedures specifically in the area of cyber analytics.
Proposes cyber-analytic research and development efforts.
Qualifications
Required:
- MS in computer science, engineering, information systems, mathematics or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years experience.
- Practical experience in cyber analysis, network analysis, malware analysis or related fields, particularly working with netflow data and IDS logs
- Demonstrated experience in real-world problem solving requiring cyberanalysis and interpretation of results against large-scale data sets
- Applicants selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include US citizenship. Must be eligible for DoD clearance requiring background investigation and/or polygraph examination. Preference for current SSBI.
Desired:
- Experience with DoD and/or IC customers on projects related to cyber or intelligence analytical applications.
- Experience with programming in a high-level language (eg Java, C), and scripting languages (eg Perl)
- Experience in intelligence analysis, statistics, databases; experience programming analytical tools (eg Matlab, SAS).
Special Work Conditions
Travel (up to 15%) may be required to support business meetings.
