Introduction:
The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), a national leader in scientific research and development, located midway between Baltimore and Washington, DC is seeking a Electronic Warfare Systems Analyst.
Responsibilities:
Support the development of next-generation airborne electronic attack systems with threat analysis, engineering-based analysis, and computer modeling and simulation.
Duties include:
1) Quantify the performance of electronic attack systems by analyzing radar and communication systems intelligence threat databases and modeling the interactions between electronic attack systems and radar/communication systems.
2) Develop or employ one-vs-one and many-vs-many models to analyze and compare airborne electronic attack system alternatives, concepts of operations, and tactics to assess the impact of these elements on electronic attack mission effectiveness.
3) Develop or modify threat scenarios or lay-downs; analyze aircraft electronic attack operational performance in the face of changing threat and electronic attack technologies.
4) Document and present results of analysis and tests to peers and sponsors.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or other engineering discipline.
Five to ten years experience in a technical field.
Understanding of basic RF signal propagation effects.
Experience with computer languages used for scientific work.
Ability to work as a team with numerous engineers with various levels of experience and technical skills.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and orally.
Ability to get a Top Secret clearance. Ability to travel to government facilities.
Desired:
Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or other engineering discipline.
Ability to get a TS/SCI clearance.
Experience with electronic warfare systems.
Experience in performance analysis of radar and communication systems.
Special Work Conditions:
Position will require some out of town travel to government and contractor facilities and special test ranges.
Security:
Applicants selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include US citizenship.
